It is very evident that acquiring a tech skill requires deep commitment but the most discouraging factor is the fees charged by so many big tech companies. In the year 2019, I wanted to learn website development, I was just a fresh Polytechnic graduate. After series of online searching, I came across one tech company in Lagos that offers website development course. The fee was over ₦350,000. It was very discouraging. I could not continue because of the charges. 

So many other individuals who claim to teach for cheaper price only touches the superficial aspects of the skill and allow you wallow in dark looking for where to make it up.

After series of searches, I have come up with the list of verified and trusted platforms that would help you navigate to a successful career in the tech world.

1. YouTube.

YouTube is one of the largest online platforms that offers wide ranges of resources in teaching and learning delivery.

YouTube was registered in the year 2005 by three friends and former employees of PayPal, Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim.

Udemy is also another highly personalized education platform that offers wide ranges of courses in virtually all areas of learning. There are some paid and free courses. At Udemy, you'll have the opportunity to connect with like minds. They teach digital marketing, Data analysis, animations, programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP etc. Udemy was registered in the year 2010 by Eren Bali and two of his friends.

3. W3Schools

This platform is a dedicated website for teaching of programming languages. Best for website developers, mobile app developers, for data analysts and cyber security. It is one of the best website I have ever seen about digital skills. All their courses are free that comes with fee only for certificates. The courses are structured excellently from beginners to advanced level. Your can learn kotlin for mobile app development, Java, JavaScript, Python, CSS, HTML etc

4. CodeAcademy.

Code academy is also a wonderful platform to acquire programming skills like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, C#, C++ and many more but from my analysis, most of their courses are not free. Unlike Udemy and YouTube where one can access multiple advanced resources without fees. It is very good though in teaching delivery with instructor's personalized Assistance.

5. Coursera.

Coursera was founded by a professor from the prestigious Stanford University, department of Computer science. Coursera partners with so many universities and and training institutions in delivering free and paid training programs in both digital skills and other areas. Certificates from Coursera are awarded by prestigious institutions and companies like Google, Microsoft, and world class universities. It is a best place to acquire digital skills like Data science, UI/UX design, Cyber security, website development and many more. Coursera also offers online degree programs in affiliation to leading universities.

The AI softwares is an all encompassing platform for any form of resources. Chatgpt has the potential to teach any skills especially digital skills. I was surprised the day I asked chatgpt to write a code for my e-commerce project and it did. Chatgpt can offer useful information everyone may need.
