Federal Polytechnic Oko has emerged as the winner of the South-East zonal quiz competition organized by the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria as part of activities marking its 50th anniversary.
The hybrid competition, which featured tertiary institutions offering Estate Management and Valuation across the South-East, was held on March 24, 2026. Each institution was represented by two students in a keenly contested academic showdown.
Federal Polytechnic Oko was represented by Mr. Nwaneri Gideon Chigozie and Miss Elliot Faith Tonye, both from the Department of Estate Management. Their outstanding performance secured the institution the top position, placing them ahead of other competing schools in the region.
By virtue of this victory, the institution will now represent the South-East zone at the grand finale scheduled to take place in Lagos on April 8, 2026.
The Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria is the Federal Government-approved regulatory body responsible for overseeing the practice of estate surveying and valuation in Nigeria. It grants professional licenses (stamp and seal) to qualified graduates, enabling them to operate nationwide.
This achievement reflects the institution’s growing reputation for academic excellence under the leadership of Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, whose administration has continued to record significant milestones for the polytechnic.
