What the FSV UK Scholars Program Offers
The Charles University Scholarship for Social Sciences Students provides:
- Financial Support: A lump-sum payment of approximately CZK 75,000 (~EUR 3,000) to cover necessary living costs.
- Duration: The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. Students may reapply in subsequent years if funding and eligibility criteria are met.
- No Tuition Waiver: The scholarship does not cover tuition fees. Awardees are responsible for settling tuition fees prior to disbursement.
- Payment Schedule: The scholarship is paid at the start of the Winter semester, after students have registered and fulfilled all prerequisites.
Note: Scholarships are not offered for the third year of Master’s programs or the fourth year of Bachelor’s programs.
Who is Eligible for FSV UK Scholars Program ?
The Charles University Scholarship for Social Sciences Students is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Current Students: Enrolled in first or second year of Bachelor’s studies or first year of Master’s studies in a fee-based FSV UK program.
- New Applicants: Applying for any fee-based FSV UK program for the first time.
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate significant financial difficulty.
Applicants must have cleared any previous tuition debts, and for new students, no funds will be disbursed prior to arrival in Prague due to possible visa delays.
Required Documents for FSV UK Scholars Program Application
Applicants for the Charles University Scholarship for Social Sciences Students 2026 must submit a complete application via email to admissions@fsv.cuni.cz by April 30, 2026, including:
- Motivation Essay – Maximum 1,000 words explaining your financial need and what you hope to achieve from studying at Charles University.
- Letter of Recommendation – From a Charles University academic (for current students) or an academic familiar with your previous studies (for new applicants), confirming your financial need.
- Program Application (for new applicants) – Fresh applicants must also apply for their chosen FSV UK program through the online portal and pay the application fee by April 30, 2026.
All documents must be in English or accompanied by certified translations.

How Scholarship Recipients are Selected
- The Charles University Scholarship for Social Sciences Students Review Board evaluates applications based on:
- Financial need
- Academic results from previous studies
- Any previously awarded scholarships
- The Dean of FSV UK makes the final decision.
- Only students admitted to their selected program are eligible for the scholarship.
Important: Decisions are final, and the Dean does not correspond with unsuccessful applicants.
