1. Academic Qualification:
   • A good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Second-Class Lower Division) in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
   • Possession of a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
2. Professional Registration:
   • Must be a registered member of COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria).
   • Must also be a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
3. Experience:
   • At least 12 years of post-qualification experience, with 10 years in similar positions.
   • Must have served as Chief Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) for at least four (4) years in a University System.
4. Technical and Leadership Skills:
   • Strong ability to initiate, execute, and coordinate both minor and major capital projects.
   • Proven record of leadership in supervising teams within a university environment.
   • Must demonstrate evidence of performance as a Chief Engineer, especially in IGR-funded and externally funded projects.
5. Computer and Communication Proficiency:
   • Excellent communication and ICT skills are mandatory.
6. Mission and Vision Statement:
   • Each applicant must submit a 2,500-word mission and vision statement clearly outlining their leadership philosophy and goals for the Directorate.
