The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a revision to the arrival schedule for candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), particularly those writing in the first session.

According to a statement shared on JAMB’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, candidates scheduled for the first session are now expected to arrive at their Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier time of 6:30 a.m.

New UTME Schedule

  • Arrival time: 7:00 a.m.
  • Exam start time: 8:30 a.m.
  • Exam end time: 10:30 a.m.

JAMB explained that the adjustment affects only the first session, while other sessions remain structured across four daily sittings from Monday to Friday.

The board said the decision was made to improve efficiency at CBT centres nationwide and to address concerns from candidates and parents over early morning travel challenges, including safety and transportation issues.

JAMB also clarified that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips, as the changes do not affect existing exam details beyond the revised timing.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026 across approved centres in Nigeria.
